When the going gets tough, the tough get on retreat…!

retreat-bodhiyogaThe ordeals and trials of the last few years have left many with a sense of a need to replenish their inspiration and find a new way of relating to their situation in life. This has been universal and to some extent still is working itself out through the general populace.

Retreat practice, time for renewal and refreshing a vision of our lives is important as a way to respond to this kind of occurrence that life presents us with. In some ways the practices of yoga and meditation can come into their own more deeply when we are faced with difficulties and even be more transformative than usual!

We are well aware of the different levels of trial going on with our friends and students at the moment, so we’d like to encourage a deepening into practice with us in Suryavana in the next couple of months. We are considering putting on more than one retreat this year, but for now there are still a few places left on the June retreat.

As is often the case, an initial resistance can emerge whereby we don’t want to leave the familiarity of our surroundings to travel to a place and be on retreat (sometimes with many strangers). However, almost invariably the experience is a rewarding one and even in many cases leads to new insights and changes in our lives.

For many years Sudaka and Sadhita have led and participated in long term and short retreats, in fact it is what Bodhiyoga emerged from…a deep inspiration to practice more and share that with others.

We offer this to you, our students and friends who want to come and join us for a week of full immersion practice in some surroundings that in themselves are a balm to a tired mind/heart. June is probably the best month to be in Suryavana, a Buddhist Retreat Centre centred in the region of Castellon, about an hour from Valencia.

The program can be seen on the page where via the web: https://www.bodhiyoga.es/content/bodhiyoga-mindfulness-based-yoga-retreats

There are still possibilities for single occupancy and then double shared is the other alternative. If the rooms are full, maybe we could lend you a tent!

Come and join this event, the first of its kind in a number of years.

Warm thoughts from Bodhiyoga.
